Let us make something perfectly clear: we are not publishing this website to entertain you. (Perhaps, after reading some of our writing, you might say that we have succeeded fantastically 
) No, what we mean is not that we intend to bore you. Instead, our aim is beyond mere entertainment: we hope to inspire you.
And to inspire means more (at least in our thinking) than merely producing a temporary emotional warm-fuzzy. We want to inspire you to do something. People consume ‘inspirational’ books or movies every day but then turn around and live their same tedious, uninspired, malcontent life till they die. Inspired to what? That life?
So as part of our trip, we hope to include ways for you to become an active part of our journey. This will certainly make our experience richer, but we hope that it might also in turn get your wheels turning (mentally, and perhaps physically too!) What slightly-crazy thing have you always wanted to do? Travel the country, the world? Write a book? Get in shape? Whatever you’ve been holding in your heart but dismissing with your head, we hope that our journey will inspire you to dust it off and reconsider: “Why not?”
Specific ways that you can get involved with our adventure are:
- Name the center of a state in your honor
- Volunteer your home (or a friend’s, relative’s or enemy’s home) for us to stay in on our journey
- Drop us a line and let us know what you think or any questions you might have
Hello, I met you at the at the North Tract of the Patuxent Wildlife Refuge where the geocenter of Maryland is and I volunteer. I admire your courage to do this this trip. My wife and I bike (although mainly on paved trails. We just returned from an Elderhostel bike trip of the gota canal in Sweden. We are in our seventy’s so athe trip was with Elderhostel and we spent the nights in hotels. We averaged 30 miles per day - half of your milage. Good luck and fortune on the rest of your trip.
Hey yall….it was great to meet you today when you stopped for a visit on Hwy 46 outside Statesboro. (3-20-08) You are in our prayers for safety and health, as well.
